Well first of all I don't identify as libertarian, partially because

Who manages borders? Governments. You may not be a libertarian, that's fine, but in that big tent you discuss there are people agonizing over the fact that you do need governments to help mitigate this. Governments do many things very badly, but for some things like security and defence, border management, and public health, they are the only game in town.

What I would certainly assert that saving lots of people from dying 5, 10, 25 years earlier than they would have otherwise is certainly worth some effort, whether through vaccinations or masks or physical distancing or a combination. To me the interesting question is caluculaing how much effort is optimal, and in which areas of society.

The thing is, you are a sane, morally responsible adult, but you are trying to reason with a psychopath who has literally spoken favorably of the Pinochet dictatorship and openly welcomes something similar in the USA.
