Blues, Jazz & Soul : Post your old school song for today, Pt. 2

Re: Post your old school song for today, Pt. 2

More Xtina debut album; a slow build but I love the vocal arrangement on this one (Mimi-esque if you ask me):

Re: Post your old school song for today, Pt. 2

Obvious is Mimi-like. Christina said she wanted more songs like Obvious on her debut so she could show off her vocal chops. I'm surprised she's never performed it on any of her tours.

First listen; I like "Soar" a lot. CA should do an Unplugged!

Happy to introduce you to it, Peggy. Christina did Storytellers on VH1 during the Bionic era: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdvBNUWtBI0.

Love the early Mimi track. I love her whistles in this one:

Re: Post your old school song for today, Pt. 2

From Mimi's debut album, your track and mine are my favorites. They should've been singles! Thanks for the Storytellers link. What's a good track on Bionic? I know the CD did poorly and Sia was involved.

Re: Post your old school song for today, Pt. 2

YES at Vanishing! Mariah wanted it to be a single, but I guess it wasn't "pop" enough for Sony. You're welcome for the Storytellers link, Peggy. I know you love slow jams so might I recommend Sex For Breakfast from Bionic?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoJ9VWLCBas

One of the biggest criticisms about the record was that Christina didn't always use her full voice, but that's what I like about it. She experimented and played around with it.

Re: Post your old school song for today, Pt. 2

Great song and much more interesting (and groovy) material for CA than her pop songs, IMHO. Speaking of blue-eyed soul...

Re: Post your old school song for today, Pt. 2

I've heard that Jane Child song before. Have you ever seen Married to the Mob with Michelle Pfieffer, Peggy? If not, you should. It's a funny 80's mob spoof.

Side bar, is anyone else having sound issues with YouTube? I can see the videos, but the audio is missing. It's happened to me a few times before, but it's fixed within a day. It's been over 3 days now.
