Film Art and Cinematography : Is film really better than digital, like people say?

Is film really better than digital, like people say?

That's what people say. I also do audio work in my job, and there a lot of people that say analog tape is better than usual and many filmmaking and audio people still prefer it. But I don't know. It has hissing, but they said that's what makes it more natural, where as digital is too clean. But is that really a bad thing? Filmmakers even add grain to digital to make it look more like film, and less clean, but is too clean bad though? I thought that was good?

Also, movies shot on film nowadays, the filmmakers still scan it to a computer to do digital color grading. Audio recorded on analog tape is still scanned to a computer to do digital effects on it.

So I am wondering if analog is better, than how come film and tape are still scanned to do digital post color and sound effects on rather than just doing those, the old fashion analog way too?

Or what do you think, if anyone knows?
