Different designations for "zombie" in movies and series

In The Walking Dead, zombies are called "walkers" by most but they're also called something else by different people. In Fear TWD, it's by now an inside joke all the many designations for zombie. Yesterday I (re-) watched World War Z and zombies are called zombies but also "zekes". IIRC, in Dawn of the Dead (2004), at least one character calls them "twitchers".

What's the first movie you can think of in which zombies are called zombies and what are some different designations for zombies you've seen in movies and series?

TWD = Biters, Geeks
28 weeks/days later = infected
The girl with all the gifts = hungries
Game of thrones = wights, white walkers
warm bodies = fleshies, boneies

By the way, in Dawn of the dead I think that cop only called that one zombie a ' twitcher ' because it was twitching on the ground after being shot, I dont think it wa s azombie nickname, just something he said about that one zombie.

Yeah. The policeman calls the twitching zombie woman a "twitcher" and the security officer at the mall learns the expression and uses it later (once, I think). To me that establishes the term in the lore of that movie.

You mean like in the Romero movies? I can't remember what are zombies called in those movies.

Yeah, the title The Night of the Living Dead. It's a common name for them.

It's interesting that vampires are "undead". Yet zombies are "living dead".

Re: Different designations for "zombie" in movies and series

Dawn of the Dead (1978) has a character referring to them as zombies once. That has to be the first.

Just because I'm not on THEIR side, doesn't mean I'm on YOURS.
