Call me naive but I believe that Putin is actually trying to be friendly with the new President. More US sanctions and another Cold War are not in Russia's (or, more specifically, Putin's) best interests and they'll only strengthen the anti-Putin opposition in Russia. Dialogue with Biden is essential.

You do know that he supported the Iraq War? He not only voted for it, but as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Biden went along with the Bush Administration in selling the war to the American public and insisting that Saddam Hussein be removed from power by any means. Americans have such short memories, it seems.

Your country has just suffered its worst terror attack in its history and your giving a guy shit for wanting to go to war with the country who did it? His reputation would have been WORSE if he voted against it, America thinking its so great and all.

But Iraq didn't do the 9/11 attacks and the main reason we went to war with Iraq was because of its (nonexistent) Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Saddam Hussein offered condolences for the victims of the 9/11 attacks and was a hated enemy of al Qaeda.

Supporting a war because you believed it was the morally correct policy and having your political opponents murdered are two completely different things.
