The Wizard of Oz : "The Wizard of Oz" remake is not a musical.

So, it's probably not really a remake because they'll probably tweak the plot.

In the new film Tin man and Scarecrow are a gay couple who adopt Dorothy. But don't worry, Dorothy is still black.

They have been remaking just about everything for the last 15 years.

There were Oz movies before the classic one so that could be seen as a remake too. At least it sounds like they are trying to go a different route.

I hope it's really dark and frightening.

I don't think a remake is a good idea at all, but even a worse idea is not having the classic songs be sung by the characters. Though I'm guessing some of the sonng melodies may be played throughout the film or be re-recorded by modern artists.
