Lupin is the new big Netflix show, setting the record for viewership

The latest hit is the Omar Sy-helmed Lupin, which premiered on January 8 and is projected to reach a total of 70 million households binge-watching the five-part action thriller in its first 28 days, setting a global record for a French series on Netflix. This will top previous record-breakers The Queen’s Gambit and Bridgerton.

The previous records for most watched Netflix show in 28 days was The Queen’s Gambit, reaching 62 million households back in October, which was then surpassed by Bridgerton in December, with over 63 million households.

This looks really cool!

Re: Lupin is the new big Netflix show, setting the record for viewership

Previously, Netflix would count a view after 70% of a show or movie was watched. On Tuesday, Netflix said it now measured a view when a subscriber “chose to watch and did watch for at least 2 minutes — long enough to indicate the choice was intentional.”
Two minutes. They will probably loosen that even more so they can claim more record breaking numbers.

They have had that 2 minute rule in place since the beginning of last year so Lupin still outperforms The Queen's Gambit and Bridgerton.
