No one in their right mind would deny Trump mocked the reporter. No reasonable person would find that acceptable.
However it was unnecessary for Ms. Streep to devote her Lifetime Achievement Award speech to the topic. An inappropriate use of the podium.
Was it as outrageous as what Trump did? Of course not! But she was descending almost to his level.
