The Soapbox : I think I want to move to an apartment in the Boston area.

I think I want to move to an apartment in the Boston area.

I was thinking of going back to the hills, but maybe not right now.

My dad's side of the family is originally from all over Pennsylvania from his mom's side and Northeast from his dad's side, where Joe Biden is from. Some of my dad's mom's ancestors are from New York state, too. I used to visit in Southwestern New York state. I know Buffalo is probably the 2nd most well known, popular place in New York state.

I think that’s a very expensive area to live Christina. But don’t quote me on that.

Maybe you could move into Thoreau’s cabin near Concord. Now we’re talking wink.gif

I was semi-serious Christina. I’d live there, and be happy yes.gif

Studio apartments are smaller than my garage room.

Here's one:

That’s nice. I knew a guy that used to move around a lot. Between owing people money, and wearing out his welcome anywhere he went, he never stayed long in any one place.

One of the places that he lived was a converted garage. It was quite cozy. Another place was in the country. The house was built on the side of a hill, and he had the entire lower level to himself. Yet another friend lived in a pretty nice shed in another church members backyard. If you look around, you might find some nice, low cost alternatives like above, in lieu of conventional housing/apartments.

Cool! I was just jogging around an apartment complex I've envied for years. It's so peaceful and somewhat quiet from the road, probably not too noisy and maybe cozy with family and nice Black people. I would like living in the country or on a farm.

Those are lovely accommodations.

Re: I think I want to move to an apartment in the Boston area.

Indeed! My own cabin (since sold) was based largely on Thoreau’s cabin. Very cozy.

This is sorta what I was alluding to above @Christina . You see accommodations such as this in many peoples backyards. Sometimes they’re referred to as “Granny Flats” or “Mother in laws quarters". Many are plumbed and wired for water/electrical, such as the shed in the backyard where I used to live.

The real trick is to own some land, and have something just like this on it, so that you can live there rent free (Yes. This is my plan. I have the land, I just have to develop it)

That sounds very good!

I did watch some episodes of small houses, some that travel, probably. I would have considered it "interesting" at another time in my past.
