George Peppard : George Peppard

George Peppard

George Peppard was groomed by MGM then the biggest and most prestigious studio in Hollywood. Big Hits like Home From The Hill, How The West Was Won, Operation Crossbow at MGM and loan outs to Paramount for Breakfast At Tiffany's and The Carpetbaggers, and Columbia for The Victors made Peppard red hot.

Peppard after leaving MGM free lanced and took a big paycheck for WB's The Third Dy and went to 20th for a big hit The Blue Max.

Peppard signed on with Universal and thought the same magic he had with MGM would repeat itself. At Universal George Peppard made Rough Night At Jericho with Dean Martin, Tobruk with Rock Hudson, What's So Bad About Feeling Good with Mary Tyler Moore, PJ, House of Cards, all fine films but none had the magic of Home From The Hill(MGM) or world wide appeal of How The West Was Won (MGM).

I wish someone one day would write a book on Peppard

Re: George Peppard

Your wish to be resolved. Have been working on a bio for him for 20 years. Starting to finally get some really nice stuff coming in, now that it's been a while. People are more open to discussing him. Have been getting copyrights and negatives from a well known photographer who took the most gorgeous pictures of him.

Acquainted with him, in late 80's and 90's and got to see a different man than a lot saw in the earlier days. Have uncovered some incredible stuff on things he did. I hope it will be worth waiting for.

Stay tuned.
