Boris Karloff : A man of true grace and talent

A man of true grace and talent

His reputation was that of a true gentleman who treated everyone he knew with respect and never let his celebrity go to his head. He also was, allegedly, very easy to work with because he had no "movie-star" ego. I wish I could have known him, or at least been around when he had his heyday, and I wish there were a lot more like him, especially today.

Happy Birthday, RIP.

Re: A man of true grace and talent

Every thing I have read on Karloff paints him as a charming, friendly, private, and gracious man beloved by his peers and almost everyone else who knew him.

Re: A man of true grace and talent

True! I have never heard a bad word said about him. We badly need his kind of graciousness in the world today.

Re: A man of true grace and talent

Maybe it's just me but performers today appear to be more self-centered and take themselves more seriously. Boris Karloff was a real professional who often endured great physical pain in his work. Nowadays CGI is the thing. Karloff actually played The Monster while CGI did most of the work for Brad Pitt in THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON as it did for Eric Bana for THE HULK.

Very few great actors or movie stars left.
