Brendan Fraser : Hope this happens for Brendan Fraser
Re: Hope this happens for Brendan Fraser
Ha!! Not in this day and age.
Allow me to imitate ChamCham now. *Ahem* "Brendan isn't interested in doing anything nowadays. I know this for reasons I won't explain."
In all seriousness though. I don't think Brendan would be able to do a role like that anymore. Apparently he injured his back pretty badly back in 2010 and he's not as capable of action roles as he used to be. I do think there are other potential ideas to get his career back on track though.
Instead I think Brendan would benefit from doing a TV show (lead role, not recurring role like he has in The Affair). I'd love to see him in a drama by Aaron Sorkin or even David E. Kelley.
That or I'd love to see him work with someone like Quentin Tarantino. After all, Tarantino managed to make Kurt Russell relevant again last year.
Or I'd even like to see Brendan do what Michael Keaton did in Birdman or what Jean Claude Van Damme did in JCVD and play a washed up parody of himself.
Or maybe do a ensemble movie with someone like Wes Anderson or Paul Thomas Anderson, or play the lead in an Alexander Payne movie (I think Brendan's acting style would go hand in hand with Payne's style of directing).
But that's just me. Because apparently according to ChamCham, in this day and age, Brendan is some numbskull with a warped sense of judgement who looks at every project he's thrown like this: "Hmmm....I'm being offered a role in a movie that looks like a potential hit? That's helmed by a critically acclaimed director? Scribed by a critically acclaimed writer? Featuring other all star actors attached to it and could potentially jumpstart my career again if I take it? Nah. I'll stick to the b-grade indy crap I've been doing for the past few years, that's still keeping me afloat. Heheheh *sigh*... I wonder how Rachel (Weisz) is doing?"
