what was the point of having him talk to the camera?

also no one else was ever aware of the camera recording them so this is a betrayal of this tactic.

Re: what was the point of having him talk to the camera?

It was so lame. I should have shut the movie off right there. It was already so completely unrealistic up to that point, and then it totally hits rock-bottom with that ridiculous stunt.

Re: what was the point of having him talk to the camera?

yeah, how can a serious movie be taken seriously if you take the veil of a movie off? when watching a movie you have to believe that what you are watching is a movie that is separated from real reality(the real world) and you.

so, when a character talks to you it takes you out of the reality of the movie if it's a serious non comedy movie. you can then no longer suspend your disbelief.

Only Ferris Bueller & Zach Morris Can Talk to the Camera!

I had a hard-enough time as it was taking those 2 doofuses seriously as real criminals, and then when they start talking to the camera, you're absolutely right Luke…

No amount of "suspension of disbelief" can cover that level of absurdity.

Thanks for treating the audience like total imbeciles to think that we're actually going to buy it.

Oh well Luke, maybe we're just looking at it all wrong–Maybe it IS supposed to be a comedy.
