Food assistance in Boston

There's lines forming, people are in lines carrying boxes for free food, and what first caught my eyes is my pet peeve of just how most of the people are wearing their masks over their mouth, but not over their nose. Can't get over just how many people do this, including the people who are there handing out food to those in lines.

Then the second thing that caught my attention was the interviewing of people talking about how those without jobs were coping with covid, and it was mentioned that 'those who qualify' can get $4,000.00 a month. Seriously? How does one "qualify" for that kind of cash? It makes me understand why some people might refuse to go back to work even when their jobs are available when the next phase allows them to. That's for ONE person, by the way.

Don't even get me started.

Don't even get me started. (sighs audibly)

Some people are making 600 per week on unemployment which is more than a lot of young employed people were making at their jobs.

I know. That's actually been in the news a lot, which is why a lot of businesses that are trying to reopen after being closed for months and have lost almost everything, are having a hard time getting their staff back. The staff are even telling the employers directly that they can make more money collecting unemployment than they can working.

This virus has brought out the best and the worst in people. We're sitting on a global see saw right now, and who knows what the next weeks will bring.

Re: Food assistance in Boston

I completely agree with you.

Some of my family were saying on facebook yesterday that they haven't gotten their unemployment yet
