It wasn't my scene for some time. I got an appreciation for it when I realised how…goth pop some of it was, and then I started appreciating a whole lot more of it. 70s I always liked for its warmth of sound, and 60s for being irrepressible and the birth of psychedelic music.

Compared to the 60’s and 70’s I think it was horrendous, but it certainly had plenty good music. Much more than we have now

I don't think so. It just had a completely different feel. But yes, pop at the moment absolutely blows.

Those are more rock bands but not excluded from pop (for me). I'm not going to define it though. Articles on the internet can do that better than I can since pop encompasses various styles. I know it when you hear it.

During the early Libertines days they were bringing out the best British rock music I’ve seen in the last 20 or so years. Not difficult granted. But it was up there with all the insanely good music we had in the 90’s
