Science Fiction : Moon (2009)

Moon (2009)

Introspective film whose success rests largely on Sam Rockwell, primarily the only actor we see onscreen. I like that this film attacks larger issues such as the morality of using clones as virtual slaves and whether a clone can still have a free will or an independent sense of identity. The questions the films broaches are good ones but it just takes a bit long to get there.

Hey Diddler, Diddler….the cat and the fiddler LOL

Re: Moon (2009)

Wait, no mention of pedophilia?

This OP is a dissapointment

Re: Moon (2009)

Talk to Gameboy. That seems to be his area of expertise and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to keep a long, boring conversation about it going ad nauseum.

Re: Moon (2009)

Wait, just a conversation? What a fuckin tease. I am gonna take my balls and go play somewhere else.

Re: Moon (2009)

Rockwell does an impressive job and I'm surprised he wasn't lauded more for his performance during award season. I did not know that Jones is the son of Bowie. Clearly he has inherited his father's brilliant creativity. My only gripe about the film is that it feels a bit long although it does give us time to appreciate the production design and top notch acting.

Re: Moon (2009)

so u saw it? how was it?

Hrabak is nothing but an incestuous, shit eating goat fucking jew.

Re: Moon (2009)

It's an excellent film. It reminded me at times of The Martian which similarly deals with the themes of loneliness and isolation in a far away celestial location. As I said, my only gripe is that it does feel a bit long. I wonder if it could have been edited down to a 40 minute episode on anthology series like Black Mirror. But it definitely explores it's themes in an engrossing way.

Re: Moon (2009)

Yes I did a short review of that film as well.

You have me curious about Source Code now. I'll look for that. Thanks 👍

Re: Moon (2009)

Do you think that you could phrase your sentences in your own way than in my way? You're not my substitute, you're a separate film critic. You're your own person. Stop acting like you have Autism.

Re: Moon (2009)

It's beautiful, and sad. I love it! Great debut feature film from Duncan Jones. I liked his second, Source Code, a lot, too. Wasn't a big fan of Mute, though.

Re: Moon (2009)

Yes I can see why it's on so many lists of underrated sci-fi films. I hope more people give it a look. I will look for the other films directed by Jones as well.

Re: Moon (2009)

Skip Warcraft although it might work better on fast forward.

Re: Moon (2009)

I can barely remember anything from Mute at all. Moon though is one of my favourite recent movies and Rockwell is always great.

Mute is called Moon 2 in some countries. That’s a stretch!

Re: Moon (2009)

A huge stretch. I agree with you in Moon. Such a great movie!

Did you see Source Code?

Re: Moon (2009)

Yep, it’s good. I like movies with narrative structures like that.

Re: Moon (2009)

Oh wow, Duncan Jones made Mute as part of a Moon trilogy.

It didn't feel like part of Moon at all! Maybe it's a trilogy in the "Cornetto" way. [givep]

Re: Moon (2009)

It greatly appealed to me, and Sam Rockwell was perfect.

Re: Moon (2009)

He's such an underrated actor. He was great in The Green Mile also.

Hey Diddler, Diddler….the cat and the fiddler LOL

Re: Moon (2009)

I've never seen him anything but excellent, whatever the movie.

Re: Moon (2009)

I love this film. There is a lot to be said for silence and open space when watching a film. It can draw the viewer in even more. People who find this movie boring, don't have patience with silence in movies.

It is a beautifully looking film. And has a great twist.

The Force will be with you, always

Re: Moon (2009)

It’s a terrible movie, one of the worst I’ve seen. Sam Rockwell can’t act.

The premise is similar to Blade Runner. Next time just write movies similar to Blade Runner.

Re: Moon (2009)

I remember being surprised by how good this was. Didn't expect much, and it delivered a lot.

Probably deserves another watch soon.

Re: Moon (2009)

Cheers, but I'm pretty sure I had a file of it sitting on my computer somewhere.

Re: Moon (2009)

Just being helpful. I'm certainly not the type of pleaser you think I am.

Re: Moon (2009)

I only fuck Asian women, sorry.

Re: Moon (2009)

Why do you always go there with me? You never act that way with the other female posters. I don't even like you and you know that. I like somone else on Filmboards.

Re: Moon (2009)

Best of luck to you.

Re: Moon (2009)

No pressure. I'm fine right now.

Re: Moon (2009)

An excellent film, and rated 7.9 on IMDb!
