The Walking Dead : Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

I see this stated a lot when some poster has decided to speak against the LORD and sets off nimda's fury of a thousand suns (which quickly becomes overly self aware self-mocking and tongue-in-cheek shout outs so I'm not sure how seriously to take it). He "allows" us to post here despite our many flaws, which he'll happily detail if you annoy him.

This site produces no ad revenue. There's no option to donate either - I even asked back in 2017 or 2018 and he refused to let me. Unless nimda is selling data - and I can't imagine this site would produce any profitable data - or this is part of some grant-funded psychological study, whatever benefits nimda gets out of this are not financial.

So that begs the question: why is he doing this? Why DOES he provide a platform for us to troll each other and talk about COVID-19? The way nimda puts it, it's like he does it out of the kindness of his heart. But there's no way. It's very important for him to make this site appear active (think of joining all the boards to general discussion for no clear reason, when a "latest posts" feature already existed - unless that was some troll technique). At best the relationship of nimda and his posters is mutualistic, but really I wonder, does he need us more than we need him?

I had more to say but I'm bored now. Please discuss.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

You've just described the conundrum we face when we question God's motivation for creating the garden of Eden.

Is Ben the snake? No, Ben is Adam, the first man. Who's Eve? Nzer?

What the fuck am I going on about?

Fin.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

I cannot think of a single way in which he might be making money out of this (but then I'm bad with money). Possibly he's driven by what drives all of us addicted posters: massive nostalgia for a time when frivolous and yet entertaining online convos made up a huge part of our daily lives?

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Do you know he claims to have never posted on IMDb?

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

I know nothing about nimda. He seems to be quite articulate: that's about it.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

He's witty, he's articulate, he's a good person at heart, but he has a god complex and he claims he never posted on IMDb. He has abs of steel though, and a lazy eye.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

And guns.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Yes, but ITTY has the bullets.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

See, mutualism. They need each other…

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Hell, we all need ITTY. That guy was Filmboards, I don't care what anybody says.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

well, now i'm Filmboards, deal with it. i'm certainly no ITTY, but im the IT Girl.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

And stalkers.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

I think it gives him something to do for sure. And stimulation. He's intelligent, unlike a lot of the Soapboxers. Which is probably why he likes us so much.

I do think he's probably a loser, I remember him saying he was the biggest loser here and I don't think he was joking. But I don't think he's running this for something to do, there's enough distractions in this world - though it probably allows him to be more invested (emotionally and in terms of time).

I was reading through his argument with AnnaMaria. He touted her as an objectively good poster for a long time, despite her unbearably bossy personality (or actually because of it, and funny enough it's the reason he's arguing with her since she's now talking to him like she does everyone else). Once she directed some of that, um… moral consistency at him he turned on her. Initially I was annoyed but then I was like… why? Although he has "power," that only exists as long as you are a user of his website (fuck, i may have just accidentally figured out what he gets out of this), he's still just a regular fucked up human who is going to be inconsistent and self serving, and I don't think it's really fair to hold him to a higher standard than everyone else. Even though he can ban me.

My conclusion is… yes, nimda is entirely inconsistent in his positions and will only support people as long as he sees it as useful. He's not a moralist by any means. But he's not different than most people here and I don't think it's fair to expect him to be perfect. He's just a dopamine-deficient hedonist like many of us here.

That makes him more likeable actually. People who stand by their rigid beliefs are insufferable (like AnnaMaria).

All this was to say… happy birthday, nimda!!!

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Great post. Truth be told there's certain merits to both sides of the argument. Nimda is inconsistent and self serving, true, but he's also correct in that having the police called on you by someone obsessive and stalkerish is quite another story from merely having mean posts hurled in your direction. For this reason, while I was tempted to involve myself after picking a side at random, I mercifully spared whichever sorry sap was to be the target for annihilation.

Really they should both be thankful I allow either of them to continue posting.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

all he had to do was never ever come on tinychat as a random regular user. he likes bragging about his perfect body and face and that got him into trouble in the first place.

He cares about these helpless mortals?

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Victim blaming now, are we?

He deserved it: look what he was wearing!

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

he didnt have to get involved. i said from the beginning. he could have just trolled as pop actor or random socks. he gets too involved.

He cares about these helpless mortals?

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Why does he get so involved?

Loneliness?
Boredom?
Semitism?
Thirst for power (more politically correct version of the above option)?

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

he was an avid imdb messageboard user me thinks. with many socks.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

It's not his fault there are crazies out there. There's some debate to be had as to whether he's doing the right thing by distancing himself as nimda the "admin" from nimda the casual poster and sock troll. He's a poster, at heart. He likes to partake. A benefit is that in doing so he gets a break from the endless whining PMs from people like PAGG, as well they can view nimda the admin as the great and powerful Oz, operating behind the curtain but omniscient and omnipotent—someone they can go to with their meaningless struggles. A drawback is that in being balls deep in the socking game he is putting himself on the front lines of the drama and may develop a personal stake in the insignificant day to day goings-on - affecting his ability to remain impartial.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

in the beginning when col needham started his messageboard, he used to answer pms directly. slowly as his boards flourished, he stopped giving a shit and never ever responded to anyone's pms unless he had an agenda to push. maybe nimda should learn from col needham. he doesnt have to respond to pagg or me and anyone.

maybe he thinks staying involved means users see someone proactive with this site instead of a dead site with no administration, so that kills most people's mood.

!

I do think people have taken it farther with nimda than usual, but Itty crossed some real lines with G and he didn't take it seriously. Saying she encouraged Itty or whatever isn't valid since he constantly provokes G (I will promptly receive three or four all-lowercase, semi self deprecating paragraphs in response to this).

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

ITTY tells me he deliberately crossed the line with G to teach her a lesson. He was trolling her. I believe him. He's a class act.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

He does it for the stats data. If you're not into that kind of thing you have no idea what i'm talking about, but it's very addictive. It's basically crack for nerds. If you are into it, then you understand nimda.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

That's interesting; I wouldn't have guessed that but I do know some people obsessed with that kind of thing. I think it gives them some semblance of control and makes them feel omniscient (powerful, really).

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

You have anna having a melty of all melties without posting in the thread, you really got to her. Did she post on the got board?

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Did she post on the got board?

she resembles that user userrr tbh

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

I am lmao because I asked a question and it kept circling back to G. The question was never about her and no straight answer was given. Whatever

Don't derail this thread with your opaque insanity. This thread isn't created to dogpile Nimda but more simply to figure out his intentions.

Long story short, this thread only has room for one Halfwit.

Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Thanks for proving all my points losers. Talk about half wits

Re: Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Were you dropped on your head as a child and then again as a teenager and finally an adult? I notice you regularly incorporate in your responses verbatim what the last person said to you. It's not even repackaged at all; it's presented precisely how they did. Not so much like you're simply unoriginal but that your brain is misfiring and recycling the last thing it processed before it overheats.

A guy with Halfwit in his name jokingly included himself in his assessment you were a halfwit, and your reply is to call us halfwits? If I now tell you you're an imbecile I trust you'll retort with some variation of:
x 1000000000 your an imbecile and im done with you lol *exits thread laughing maniacally*

Re: Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

Boringggggg. You guys are stuck on a loop. Losers. Get used to it.

Re: Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

My god. I was right. I tell the rabid beast it is, in effect, stuck in a never ending loop of repeating the last assessment made of it, and its response (to the shock of nobody) is to inform me we're the ones in a loop. Incredible.

Re: Re: Re: nimda "allowing" us to post here

How is it to know what pathetic losers you are? What other nonsense will you scribble further proving the point? *yawns* umm yeah
