donating hair - anyone done it?

just cut off all my hair, part of a continued personal collapse, now i need to do something with it. i've donated to Locks of Love before, and they give you a cool card to show off, but i've read that they don't use all of the hair they receive. on top of that, the stuff they do give to families, they actually charge for. and i don't see a fucking dime. anyone have experience with some other ones? they all seem to have different requirements.

i did check out Wigs for Kids online, and they mention something about sponsoring a child. does that mean i can choose the kid that gets it? does anyone here know of anyone in their personal lives that could use it? first come first serve.

hair notes: it's about 12-13 inches long, dark blondish, non-dyed

edit: and luxurious

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

The clues are all there. OP is one of these before/after haircut brothers:

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

my sister sent this pic, taken a few days before:

edited my face out

she thought i looked like jesus, i guess. looks like he probably washed his hair more often though. also doubt he'd put his elbows on the table.

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

Jesus looks as though he has cleavage!!

You had a great head of hair there - curly too. Hope you find a good home for it.

I see your sister has the same sense of humour as her brother. It must be a laugh a minute at your house.

Momoa-esque?

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

I'd have to have seen it in dreadlocks before I could possibly comment!!!

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

Knew it. Hi, Isaac! Was it awkward when your younger brother, Zac, married your ex? Must've been [url name=

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

when you can so casually drop hanson references and without any self awareness that others may not be so immersed in the hanson-verse as yourself, you've gone in too deep. it's time to come back and to take down the hanson posters. also, you can't make fun of me for coldplay ever again. i'm a taylor, btw. issac is just insulting.

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

I like that you got the Isaac joke lol! Real talk, though, real Fansons know Issac is the best brother. Real talk again, Hanson is better as a band than Coldplay. Not a joke.

Jesus !

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

article here from 2013 with some info:

http://balancingmeanderings.blogspot.com/2013/10/where-should-i-donate-my-hair.html

mentions the Childhood Leukemia Foundation, but the charity rating is low, whatever that means. they also mention their website doesn't offer many details. a charity focusing on donations to those with childhood cancer would be my ideal though, as i'd rather my hair go to someone with a potentially terminal disease, rather than a cosmetic one. Locks of Love mainly donates to those suffering from childhood alopecia.

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

Usually a haircut is a good sign. Unless you Britney'd it. Did you Britney it?

I've tried before and ran into similar issues as you. Threw it out in the end.

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

if britney'ing it means i cut it all off as a sort of life crisis and now i'm on the prowl for sexy bad-boy backup dancers, then i definitely britney'd it.

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

Exactly what I meant. You don't miss a thing. [url=

Re: donating hair - anyone done it?

I recently found out one of my brothers is an "expert" on marijuana. According to him, the half-life of marijuana metabolites in hair is very long, much longer than in urine or blood, and law enforcement are very aware of this–even if you shave all your scalp hair, they will find some hair somewhere on your body to be able to test for past exposures. lol

Here's a little girl with alopecia who needs some!
