The Shack : Is this religious propaganda?

Is this religious propaganda?

The trailer made me feel nauseated and I couldn't finish it. Are the magical ethnic people God?

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

Yes and yes.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

Yes, because if you read the book it'd make more sense.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

No it's a movie made for religious people. It is not meant to convert you or get you to do anything you don't want to do. It's religious entertainment. If you are unable to watch do to your own beliefs then simply don't watch. Easy fix.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

Thanks for your help. I was at a loss. Praise Jesus etc ?

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

would you be asking that same question if the movie were about muslims?

you're not important,
being unique is a concept

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

If it were about Muslims it wouldn't have gotten funding. So no.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

That's a load of B.S. Hollywood loves Muslims and this board proves how it feels about Christianity. This isn't propaganda. Just as the movie "Marley and Me" isn't propaganda to get you to buy a puppy. It's a movie about a dog. This is a movie about a man's Faith or lack there of. Why do so many people laugh at or hate any movie having to do with Christiany or worse yet get "offended" by it?

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

I don't know, I'm neither laughing nor offended. Luckily you can ask one of the so many people who are. I'm not Hollywood either so can't speak for its love of Muslims, but I'm struggling to see that love illustrated in casting and storylines. I'm personally not a fan of any religion.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

Because religions suck and are only useful to the ones who want to control and manipulate people, so that just about covers it

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

Ummmm silence and hacksaw ridge prove your point wrong especially how most middle eastern s are casted as stereotypes in movies

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

It is new age propaganda. Here is an article about it written by a former new ager: http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/blog/?p=22067

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

I read that article.

What the author fails to note is that anylet me repeat, anypopular entertainment, or religious movement, or popular "spiritual" paperback should be regarded with deep suspicion by Christians. Very simple. Why should anything popular be regarded with deep suspicion by Christians?

Because Jesus Christ told us that His "Way" was the way of the Cross. To be crucified to one's self is not a popular pasttime.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

Yes

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

No, but it is religious.

I'm irreligious and thought it was a decent book. I tend to shy away from anything religious because it's always pushy, but this story was actually pretty good.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

This is religious propaganda in the same way that the "Twilight Saga" is vampire propaganda.

Re: Is this religious propaganda?

I don't think they want us to think vampires are real. So Twilight isn't vampire propaganda.
