Only two - oh, brother!

In general, in terms of multiple pairings, of course, I'd have to choose Loy-Powell, Grant-Loy, Astaire-Rogers, and Bogart-Bacall.

For singular exceptions, however, I don't think I've ever seen a better pairing than Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in Notorious. The romantic electricity between them is palpable from the first moment to the last - probably the film in which I felt Grant's most deeply passionate side.

Next, I'd choose (and this is going to seem an odd one, I know) Meryl Streep and Kurt Russell in Silkwood. For me, in that particular film, they seemed to belong together, to be really in love. As a supporting testament to this, I once saw a tv documentary about Kurt Russell in which Meryl Streep (not prone to doing these things) sang Russell's praises as an actor in that film.
