The Fly : Dr Strangelove connection?

Dr Strangelove connection?

Seeing the fly's arm try to stop André from typing to his wife, I was irresistibly reminded of Peter Sellers as Dr Strangelove, near the end, his arm rising in a Hitler salute and the other hand trying to stop it. Is there any record to suggest the Strangelove scene was based on the Fly one?

Ha! Ha! I immediately thought of Dr. Strangelove when I saw the scenes where he kept grabbing his fly hand.

I wanna buy your carbon offsets.

Thanks. That makes sense.

Dammit, now I can't remember what that post said that "makes sense" nor what it could possibly have said that justified it being delected.

Re: Dr Strangelove connection?

I thought the EXACT SAME THING. I had just watched Dr. Strangelove again a couple of days ago when I stumbled across The Fly today. I had seen the remake plenty, but never the original. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the fly hand doing it's own thing!

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.
