I would love to punch whoever made the rule that you can't say "I really liked this old ______" without some jerk having to moan about how "everything today stinks!"
FACT: The 1960s-1980s were a wretched period in the history of animation, with tiny budgets and next to no creativity. Only a few animators managed to do decent work (like Jay Ward's Bullwinkle & Bob Clampett's Beany & Cecil) under these constraints.
FACT: Cartoons are currently in a renaissance - even clean & simple ones!
