Economics, Business, Money, Finance : Question for anybody on here with law experience.

My mother has a ton of debt totaling slightly over $250,000 dollars. As a result of such, anything in her name can be taken away. I have a vehicle in her name that I want to transfer over to my name so that they cannot take my vehicle away. I asked my sibling if that would be possible, he told me that the vehicle cannot be transferred over to my name until it has been paid in full. Is that true or is there some way to circumvent that? There has to be some kind of loophole.
