General Hospital : Nikolas & Valentin

Nikolas & Valentin

So Nikolas is "dead" and Valentin "killed him", right? We all know that Nikolas isn't really dead - at the very least because we're soap fans and we know better. I've had this theory ever since Nikolas was shot: that Valentin helped him fake his death. I apologize if this has been brought up before; I haven't seen it.

Every time Lulu or Laura bring up the fact that Valentin killed Nikolas, I want Valentin to confess that the bullets were blanks and it was a set up. It would be the final thing to redeem Valentin as a good guy. At the very least, I wish he could confide in Nina. (That is, if my theory is correct.)

On a side note, I really love these guys together - though I think Michelle Stafford could have chemistry with anyone. She's really good at making Nina find the best in people.

Re: Nikolas & Valentin

They probably will go that route if Tyler Christopher is in fact returning as NIkolas. And actually it makes sense. It even explains more clearly why Valentin tried to abduct Spencer when there was no need to since he had Mikkos modified will. He in fact was taking Spencer to Nikolas.

Re: Nikolas & Valentin

I thought they were softening Valentin because Nik was gone. Valentin would become the tortured Cassadine. I also thought they might aged Spencer in a few years, and keep Valentin. But they still write scenes for Emma, so I don't think they are planning on aging Spencer.
I would like for Nik to return and be the Prince. I dont believe the modified will story. But it does free up Nik's resources for him to use while away.

And what fresh Hell is this?, Malory from Archer(Dorothy Parker)

Re: Nikolas & Valentin

While that would be a nice twist, I don't think it is necessary to turn Valentin into 'a good guy'.

Why do so many people want that to happen? What is a wrong with a bad guy being charming, charismatic and likable, and yet, still bad?

Often in literature, the bad guy is the most interesting character in the story. The Joker is more interesting than Batman. Lex Luthor is more interesting than Superman. Inspector Javert is more interesting than Jean Valjean. Khan is more interesting than Captain Kirk.

This is often true in actual history as well. The treasonous Benedict Arnold is in many ways a more interesting person than George Washington. George Washington was stern and moralistic, but Benedict Arnold was ambitious, morally conflicted (in a way that Washington never was) and the motives for his betrayal are murky at best, opening the way to all kinds of speculation. I've read biographies of both men, and let me tell you, Benedict Arnold's story is far more psychologically compelling.

I'm fine with Valentin just being a bad guy, and also being crafty, charming, charismatic and witty. In fact, that is my favorite kind of bad guy.

Re: Nikolas & Valentin

It's not that I want him to be a total good guybut there are some things that make a person irredeemable.and cold blooded murder is one of them. How on Earth can Lulu be expected to share custody with a man who shot and killed her brother, no matter how good a father he is?

If it'd be the other Lulu, I'd actually care about that but with this one in the role, that's her problem.

In fact, I'd love to see her forced to balance it out in her head and come to terms with it.

Re: Nikolas + Valentin

I really like your theory, and I hope it's correct. I would love for Valentin to not have murdered Nik, because I would like to see Lulu and Anna's heads explode knowing that they were actually wrong about something.

Re: Nikolas & Valentin

Why would they both do this set up?

An intellectual carrot , the mind boggles

Re: Nikolas & Valentin

Why would they both do this set up?

1) Nikolas already faked his death once and it didn't takeso this was a good way to fake it again, with tons of witnesses, this time.
2) Valentin is family; and besides that, Valentin gets money and property out of the deal. He gets Windemere - etc. It's not unthinkable that they could have met previously and Nikolas talked him into it. - I bet part of the deal was that the Greek authorities were on the take, so that Valentin would easily get off for killing Nikolas
3) Valentin tried to seek out Spencer -I bet it was to bring him into the foldor even to bring him to see Nikolas.
