Music General : How do you/will you find/try new music?

How do you/will you find/try new music?

Youtube?
Radio? (for me, SiriusXM)
Message board (for the finding)
Where else?

Now I know I should say "No". But that's kind of hard when she's ready to go.

Re: How do you/will you find/try new music?

The Quietus, friends, various artist's Facebook pages, Drowned in Sound, Pitchfork, Stereogum

She's dead, wrapped in plastic.

Re: How do you/will you find/try new music?

Various message boards, Stereogum, Noisey, checking out opening acts, researching other bands that musicians I like have been in, recommendations from friends, books, podcasts...

Re: How do you/will you find/try new music?

Pandora sometimes turns me onto new music.
Pitchfork, Fact Magazine sometimes can interest me in something.

Check out the short lists for Polaris, Mercury and Ivor Novello, among other things, I suppose.

I've given up trying to stay acquainted with the latest thing, though, I have to say.

The whole damn place goes crazy twice and it's once for the devil and once for Christ

Re: How do you/will you find/try new music?

Youtube is how I find new music.

Re: How do you/will you find/try new music?

It's a bit peculiar but....movies, and TV commercials, and sometimes TV shows.

Odder still -- my dollar store plays a feed that is strangely good, and I've managed to google lyrics and find new artists that way.

I used to listen to the radio a lot, mostly while driving, but where I relocated I can't find anything good to listen to.

Re: How do you/will you find/try new music?

I browse the Galaxie Music channels on TV.

There, I discover a few songs on the various channels, as well as rediscover some classics - whether I know who did the song or not.
