The Sound of Music : Did they finally bury that Carrie Underwood abomination?

Did they finally bury that Carrie Underwood abomination?

I hope so.

Re: Did they finally bury that Carrie Underwood abomination?

You mean the live version of the broadway production which people were stupid enough to think was supposed to be a remake of the movie?

Re: Did they finally bury that Carrie Underwood abomination?

Most people are aware that it's not a remake of the movie, but is rather based on the same source material. Apparently, you like to think that they don't because it makes you feel smarter.

But in any event, it still sucked.

Re: Did they finally bury that Carrie Underwood abomination?

Having seen several stage productions, I can honestly say the Carrie Underwood production was indeed a monstrosity.

Re: Did they finally bury that Carrie Underwood abomination?

The night it aired millions of people were on social media saying "the original was so much better." I finally corrected some vof them and said, "unless you saw the original on broadway with Mary Martin, then you have nothing to compare this to."

Keep in mind that was the first time in decades a live play had been done on tv. Yes, it wasn't perfect and Carrie's acting was raw. But it wasn't terrible and was a ratings monster. Now they do one every year and spend a lot more money and put in a lot more time.
