Melissa Benoist : Seriously don`t get why Melissa still gets so much hate from Glee fans

She was doing the best she could with poor writing.

I just don`t understand `Gleeks`completely irrational hatred of her.

Other than a show about teenagers is bound to attract fans with the same maturity level.

As near as I can tell.. some within the fandom saw her as a threat to their favorites More screen time for her meant less for the ones they always wanted to see. The show was changing and they wanted it to remain the same..

Many people who watched the show liked the character Melissa portrayed but a vocal minority made a lot of waves on social media. It's unfortunate.. but whatever it's in the past. Maybe someday the haters will grow up.

I've seen people who refuse to watch Supergirl because they're still holding the parg Melissa played on Glee against her.

Not watching a show because it's not something you're interested in is one thing but refusing to watch a show because you didn't like the part the actor played on a different, completely unrelated show, is petty and catty, not to mention bat-$hit insane.

Because they're a bunch of 12 year old girls.

They're all 12 year old babies.

I watched Glee from episode 1. I really like Melissa. I am absolutely happy she is succeeding. I thought she has great chemistry with Cory Monteith (Finn). The problem with the season 4 newbies was that it was a rehash of the originals. The writing was already poor and when Cory died, that essentially was the end for her character. The problem is that with her gone, they didn't bother to give closure to her character at all. Her storyline was stupid to begin with and it was do Disney-fied that made people believe it was her. But it's not. Good for her and Grant Gustin (Sebastian). They're becoming more successful than the original Glee cast. The only ones I thought would be truly mainstream were Cory (I was wrong as he died) and Dianna (Quinn).

No one really watched glee for the writing did they? It was the songs!!!

I think it's ironic how quickly Supergirl was let go from Glee and is now the breakout star from that show. Leah Michelle and the rest would kill for Melissa's career!

I mentioned in another thread that for all the hate she continue to gets from "Gleeks", she's arguably done the best out of all the former cast.

Apparently Supergirl has enjoyed improved ratings since the move to The CW.

It's actually slipped some from CBS's best (obviously.. CW doesn't normally get those ratings) but it's doing well for it's time slot and one of their top4 shows I think it would have been fine on CBS to. Monday nights are tough.. but whatever.. It's good that it's on the CW so they can mesh with the other DC Shows.

I mentioned that the show has the built-in audience with the people who watch Arrow, The Flash and Legends.

Apparently the four night crossover received big ratings and there's the musical crossover between The Flash and Supergirl coming up in the spring as well.

I stopped watching pretty early in that season. But it was because all of the writing was so poor. I actually had a bit of a crush on Marley and if anything, she was tempting me to keep up with it, but I just couldn't.
