Nicola Peltz : The Next Natalie Portman?

Would anyone else agree? I mean for one thing, they're both pretty attractive people, and not to mention they didn't have that good of career start-offs at first. Like Natalie Portman certainly didn't have a good start with the 'Star Wars' prequels, however she did indeed prove herself to be a great actress over time from choosing better scripts as well as even winning an Oscar.

Not that I think that the latter will end up happening with Nicola Peltz, but I do believe she does have talent, I thought she was fine in 'The Last Airbender', I look forward to seeing her on the 'Bates Motel' miniseries, and I may not be the biggest 'Transformers' fan on the planet, it still may help her career by appearing in an already-proven billion-dollar franchise which could lead to more work for her!

Overall, what I am pretty much saying is that she seems like she has the potential of proving herself as a good actress in years to come.

The Star Wars prequel was not the start of Portmans career. Not even remotely.

I don't see it. Her acting is mediocre at best, sometimes downright terrible. But, OK, that's my opinion.

But she's been acting professionally for at least 8 years Portman had already been nominated for a Golden Globe, CFCA and won a YoungStar by that point in her own career.

They do share one thing, both having been nominated for Razzie's at some point. But the difference is that a Razzie is the _only_ award Peltz has been nominated for in all that time.

Natalie Portman is more than a pretty face. She's an amazing actress. and like the other person said, the Star Wars movies aren't even close to being the start of her career. Barely even a blimp on the map of her career. Most people don't even know she's in it, a lot think it's Keira Knightley I'm sure.

But this chick is definitely cute. Talented, but not nearly as talented as Natalie portman. Her career is still unpredictable at this point.

Portman started with "The Professional" which she got rave reviews for. Did "Beautiful Girls' long before she did Star Wars, once again to rave reviews. So how exactly did she not start off well? LOL

Not even remotely.
Portman is Portman and Peltz is Peltz. They are two different ppl of two different calibers of acting. No comparison about it. SimplePortman has her chops whereas Peltz is still young and someday "may" be in the range of Portman only if she continues to find range as Natalie did.

You obviously know nothing about film or acting talent if you think Natalie Portman was at the same level as this girl at the same age!! Natalie Portman was 12 years old when she was in the Professional and got great critics reviews. This girl was 14 when she did her first movie the Last Airbender and got trash by the critics for her wooden performance.

About as likely as Taylor Lautner will be the new DiCaprio.

But I cannot agree with that statement of your about she is the next natalie portman tho. Her acting on Transformers was so awful. She is terrible. She's not that pretty, just that kind of blond chick hollywood typical, imo.

Lon is the original name I think americans know this movie as "The professional", but ye not many people are aware that the little girl is Natalie Portman.
As far as comparing Nicola Peltz and Natalie Portman well one can act and express emotions on screen while the other one looks like she could star in an ad for Xanax. I'll let you decide who's who. :D

Nicola Peltz is a competent actress. But she doesn't have the stones to be a great actress.

She has a pretty face. But lacks, presence. The ability that great actors\
actresses has.

She can act well.

She can act in a passingly manner.

But she is not a great actress. Passable, middle level, soap level ac5b4ting. But not the stuff accolades are made of.

As a lot of people have pointed out, Natalie Portman was a great actor even when she was a child. Her acting in the Star Wars prequels was a bit wooden, but I have a feeling the director deserves much of the blame for that.

Natalie Portman won 26 Best Actress Awards (including the Academy Award) for her all-time great performance in Black Swan.
Impossible to compare anyone to her.
The only thing Nicola Peltz has in common with Natalie Portman is their initials are both NP.

Hard to tell, since the only thing I've seen her in was Transformers 4, and she was awful in it. Of course that could have been as much the directing as anything else (none of the characters rose above sophomoric canned lines).

She's also not nearly as attractive as Portman, IMO, and frighteningly scrawny.

She might do well playing teens and pre-teens, with her "little girl" looks and preteen body, but it's going to be hard to look upon her as a serious WOMAN. And she's too old to feel she'll likely "grow into" the look.

Agreed. But just because that scrawny body has a bit of a curve, due to an exceptionally small waist, doesn't make it worth much, in my view, however, either. Her arms and legs turn me off (I didn't understand the short-shorts in T4 as if those sticks were worth showing off). The fake mini-implants don't do anything for me, either.

Couple that with the face and "acting" nope. Doesn't do much for me.
