Not an original choice, Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild"
Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

Re: Your favorite song from the film
Tough question given the great quality of songs in this film. For me, it's The Pusher by Steppenwolf.I can't explain why but it's just a great tune and has a very 60's feel. A bit psychedelic and bluesy. Funny coming from a group that performed a pro-marijuana song titled "Don't Step on the Grass Sam."
Re: Your favorite song from the film
Several, so I'll pick a "top three":
--The Pusher by Steppenwolf (scene after picking up contraband on way to make the drop to Phil Spector)
--If 6 Was 9 by Jimi Hendrix (entering Louisiana?)
--Flash Bam Pow by Electric Flag Band (driving "home", before their final camp-out where Billy and Wyatt "blowing it")

Born To Be Wild is one of my all time favorite songs for life, so it would have to be that.
That song carries with it many memories for me, my coming of age, and one of my first boyfriends. I never tire of it. It never gets old to me or sounds dated.
Actually all of the songs on Easy Rider stand the test of time.

Wasn't Born To Follow - from one of the all time underrated Sixties lps, The Notorious Byrd Brothers. It underpinned a few different scenes and spoke to the themes of the film, not to mention its a great song by great band.

"If 6 Was 9" ~ Jimi Hendrix
Not only is the song powerful all by itself, but juxtaposing Hendrix's bluesy psychedelic rock with the rural south, showing the massive plantation style homes with the black slums .... just amazing cinematic poetry.

Re: Your favorite song from the film
I really dug all of the music in the film, and still do, after all these years.
However, being a bit of an Electric Prunes freak, I can honestly say that the "Kyrie Eleison" track from the whorehouse sequence is the absolute best, even if it is in a truncated form.
It is taken from the Prunes' 1968 album 'Mass in F Minor', which has been an inspiration for me for almost 50 years...
^_^
The Opener of the Way is waiting....

It's alright Ma (I'm only bleeding)
Re: Your favorite song from the film
"The Pusher" for sure. What a tune! Also, "It's all right, ma".
