Would you replace a CD set that is 140 minutes long-

-if it had a scratch on one track that made it skip for about ten seconds?

I have tried using rubbing alcohol - that didn't help - and this is one of my most beloved discs. It is one of the first I ever bought (I got it in 1986), and I hate to replace it if there were a way I could fix it. But I want to be able to play it, without it skipping.

Take paste car wax,.wax the bottom, let it dry and buff it off, works most of the time expect on the real deep ones. (Sounds like yours is not that deep for the error correction to recover)
