Audio Equipment and Home Theater Audio : If my entertainment center does not have surround sound jacks…

If my entertainment center does not have surround sound jacks…

is there any kind of converter I can buy so it can be hooked up? It kind of sucks having the option and not being able to utilize it...

Your question doesn't make a lot of sense. What makes you think you have "the option and not being able to utilize it"? What is the make and model of your system?

Oops...I meant having the option of surround sound ON THE DVD.

Look on the back of the DVD player. You should see at least two of three possible connections.

You'll see a rca jack with an orange center that says "Coax out."

The next option will be a small black square that says "Optical out,"

The next option will be a flat connection that says "HDMI" over it.

For true surround sound, you must have the corrosponding cable and a home theater reciever with five speakers plus subwoofer.

I have those speakers, but there's only three jacks and there's six speakers! How am I supposed to do this?

You cannot connect surround sound speakers directly to the Samsung DVD-R155. You need to connect the player to an audio receiver/amplifier using one of the digital audio outputs (optical or coaxial) or HDMI.
