[REC] 3: Genesis : For those that speak Catalan or are familiar with it.
Re: For those that speak Catalan or are familiar with it.
As far as I remember, they speak Catalan briefly at the very beginning of the film. Koldo says to the uncle Pepe Vctor, "tiet, amunt Valncia" (which means "uncle, go Valncia [a Spanish football team]). After that, when the bride is coming, one person [his father, I suppose] is speaking Catalan and he says "s, una mica nervis, s clar, per, per est preciosa, l'hauries de veure" (which means "yes, I'm a little nervous, sure, but, but she looks beautiful, you should see her).

How interesting. I don't know much about the language breakdown of Spain, so I don't know what percentage of the population speak Catalan enough to understand it.
It wasn't subtitled in the film in Spanish, so I wonder if most people can understand it, or since its a throwaway line in the beginning when things are happening really fast it wasn't important?

I noticed on both the IMDB and wikipedia pages that the film features the Catalan language, at least to some degree.
Now I get why French was listed, as even just a few words can qualify it for a listing, but just out of curiosity, where did Catalan pop up in the film. It must have been really brief, as I didn't catch anything.
