Ordinary workers meeting with someone like Gekko?

Did it strike anyone else as odd that the union reps meeting with Gekko were people who actually worked for a living? At every placed I've worked at (that had unions) there would be about 2-3 layers of union management between them and someone like Gekko. It's sort of like a Hollywood fantasy where workers run the union (as far as administrative, negotiating, etc) on their spare time.

Re: Ordinary workers meeting with someone like Gekko?

The union reps came because of Bud. Gecko used Bud to get around the lawyers and management and speak directly to the union reps.

Unless Blue Star was just about everything we saw on the screen, I don't see how those 3 people (who worked in the trenches) could represent all of Blue Star's labor. I mean, Carl's group was all the mechanics/maintenance people Blue Star had? That's pretty much impossible.

@ryan-anderson I think it's just taking liberties to make it easier to follow the story. Also, it means we get to see working-man Carl Fox meet Gecko.
