"I meant to say naaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwsty."

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

"Thank you Very Much." I would love to play the role of Tom Jenkins some day just so I can sing that song.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Unless you played it in the Tommy Steele stage version where you would find he'd nicked it for himself. Tom Jenkins doesn't get it.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Haha, I think "Thank You Very Much" is probably just about everybody's favorite. I know its mine. Its so catchy and cute.

2nd favorite would have to be the beautiful little song by Tiny Tim. (The one that goes: "On this beautiful winter's morning..."

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

"I Like Life" and Alec Guiness's song that he sings during the ghost scene. Thank You very Much is my other favorite.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

'Christmas Children'(sung by Bob Crachit, Tiny Tim and his sister) is my favorite! It just captures the magic of Christmas through the eyes of the young and young at heart! I can listen to that song over and over and never tire of it!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

No love for 'I Like Life' and 'Father Christmas'?

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

My favorite is "I'll Begin Again," however not Finney's version (he doesn't make it rousing enough; he's better on the songs that are SUPPOSED to be mumbled under one's breath). The rendition I adore is Anthony Newley's, on his Pure Imagination album/CD. The CD is now paired with Ain't It Funny, another Newley favorite of mine. Of course Newley also performed Finney's role in the British revival in the 90's, but he was no longer in his most vigorous voice.

Within the film alone, "Thank You Very Much" comes off the best. And I have a special fondness for "I Hate People" because I was ten and it made me look up the word "sycophant" in a dictionary ("a servile person who, acting in their own self interest, attempts to win favor by flattering one or more influential people, with an undertone that this is at the cost of their own personal pride, principles, and peer respect."). I don't think I have ever used it in a sentence once!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Thankyou very much.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

its so hard to pick one! there's not ONE song in it i don't love, but i admit my mother and i tend to sing i hate people whenever we get stuck in traffic lmao :-)

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Mine is "Thank You Very Much"
I remember when I saw this as a kid, in the Broadway theater in South Philly,
people were coming out humming and or singing the song, it was quite infectious.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

December the 25th! I love that entire scene with everyone dancing and believe this version has the best Fezziwig.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

"I Like Life" is the song that has stuck with me through many, many years. It's my absolute favorite no contest.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

I love the "December the 25th" number. So much fun! And for pure joy and heart-warming glow: "Happiness Is." JWhat a delightful score!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

December the 25th and Thank You Very Much are my two favorites. I wish this was on TV more often!

Hands down favorite "Thank You Very Much!"

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

"I Hate People!".

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

I Hate People lol!

I really like "Thank You Very Much" as well. I like to sing that to someone when they do a favor for me. Scares the crap out of them.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

So many to pick but 'Thank yo very much' it has to be!!!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

I have a morbid sense of humor, so seeing a bunch or people sing and dance because some awful person just died cracks me up. And the fact that Scrooge sings along with them because he doesn't know what's going on just puts me over the edge.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Same.

We watched this one in the fourth grade and all left the auditorium singing it.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Still another vote for "Thank You Very Much"!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

No question, it's "Thank You Very Much." That one is contagious.

No blah, blah, blah!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

For me, it's a toss-up between December the 25th and Thank You Very Much. This film is one of my favorites and has been since I saw it in the theatre.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Hands down "Thank you very Much" one of the Greatest Musical Numbers in Movie songs. Playing Tom Jenkins would be a blast to bad we do our Community Theater Musical in the Middle of the summer. I also liked the Song Little Tim sings. What a great Film Masterpiece.

Now my only problem is that after watching it today I can't get the song "Thank you very Much" out of my head. HELP!!!!!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

My favorite musical number is "Thank You Very Much", this is my favorite adaptation of Dickens' novel.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

So hard to choose! All the songs are terrific, but I'd have to choose "Father Christmas" and "Thank You Very Much," followed closely by "I Like Life," "Happiness" and Tiny Tim's song.

"Don't dream it, be it."

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Definitely "Thank You Very Much", it's always the one I end up singing after watching this.

I can't believe you put Tiny Tim's song Toby; I always skip through that part. He's very cute, yes, but I can't stand hearing the out-of-tune singing. And "my WISSSSHHH"...

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Well because of the success of the song, it's usually taken away from Tom Jenkins and given to the star, certainly in the versions I've seen.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Well if you did do the musical version you would probably find that the song has been taken from Tom Jenkins and given to the star - I would guess because its become so popular. This has certainly happened in the versions I've seen.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Much as KatBaloo stated above (not to mention 2 years ago), the Christmas Children song and the sequence in which its sung in the movie has an interesting, welcoming vibe to it that always resonates with me the most. Admittedly, the majority of the songs in this kick a$$ movie are in my heart, as this was the version of 'A Christmas Carol' which I grew up with, but as Cratchit and his two younglings traverse the streets of London accruing their quite meager but also quite sufficient wares for a Merry Christmas (to them anyways), and seeing the parallels with the very well off shopping for the much more expensive wines, foods, and gifts, it draws a very subtle yet stunning conclusion that one's enjoyment of the holiday is not derived from one's purse, just from the energy they put into embracing the spirit of Christmas. Plus it reminds me (a blue collar boy) of when me and my family would do similar, simplistic things at Christmas to enjoy it to the fullest. It's an overlooked song in a (quite unfortunately) overlooked film.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

"Father Christmas"

"What do you want me to do, draw a picture? Spell it out!"

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

"You..You" and "Happiness"

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

The soundtrack requires multiple listenings, but most definatley grows on you
Father Christmas
Happiness (although certainly not when I was younger)

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Too hard to choose! A Christmas carol, thank you very much, you, you, I like life, happiness, December the 25th. All great!

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Ditto.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

''A Christmas Carol'', ''Happiness'' and ''I Like Life''. But, Its so had to choose-they're ALL terrific.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

They're all wonderful, for different reasons--joyful, fun, lighthearted, wistful, touching, sentimental...the film touches me on many levels.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

I don't know the song titles but I rather enjoyed the one where he sings "I hate people and I don't care if they hate me."

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

the version of "Thank you very Much" when they dance on Scrooges coffin, Pure Surrealism

Oh GOOD!,my dog found the chainsaw

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

The entire soundtrack is great. I still have the soundtrack LP I purchased back in 1970. My favorite is Father Christmas. The Oscar Nominee, Thank You Very Much is also great as is I Like Life, December the 25th, Christmas Children and Happiness. I don't care for I Hate People but its lyrics were meaningful.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Oh, yes, Thank You Very Much, but finally seeing it again after so many decades, I've grown to enjoy I'll Begin Again.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

December the 25th, my dear, it is so much fun.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

There really aren't that many that stick out except for "Thank You Very Much", but i prefer the second one, when Scrooge has found redemption, and is dancing with the townspeople in the Santa suit. The first version, of course, is when the Ghost of Christmas Future shows us that he died, and Tom Jenkins, the hot soup man, and everyone else who owed him money, is free from paying him back. There isn't really a lot of songs in this movie. I do like the beginning song, "Sing a Song of gladness and Cheer."

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

The ministers cat
Father Christmas

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Mine was "I Hate People". For a long time that was my theme song.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

Father Christmas is my favorite.

Re: what is your favorite musical number in scrooge?

'Thank You Very Much'.
