I would think fundie Christians would be offended by the graphic language, but they probably loved the rest of the stuff until the very end. After all, this is their wet dream. They get raptured up to heaven while all of the "sinners" suffer horrible deaths followed by an eternity in Hell. The end though had to have send them in to an absolute tizzy though. Jews getting in to Heaven? Homosexuals as well? What blasphemy!!!

The Backstreet Boys was the biggest blasphemy of all. I half expected Jay to fall from Heaven after he made that wish.

that wouldve been the greatest ending of all, and made the film a classic and not just ok.

I'm a Christian too. But I'm not easily offended. I can see where most Christians would be upset about this movie; not a lot of my friends like this movie or the other movies these guys do, but I think they're hilarious.

I agree. Satire is satire, and meant to skewer "sacred cows". I'm also a Christian, and I thought the film was hysterical!

Recently read an article about 'the rapture'. It was some fairy tale made up in the late 1800's. It's not in any bible church doctrine.
But then, the whole christian story was from a dozen or more previous religions. Stolen, whole-cloth.
But if these stories give anyone comfort, I'm fine with that. Just keep them out of the schools, courts, and politics!

Instead of stuffing as many playground insults into one sentence as possible, maybe you should have tried actually addressing any of his points. The Christian fairy tale is so absurd its laughable. If your worldview involves talking snakes, that the Earth is 6,000 years old, a flood genocide and blood sacrifice I'll pass thanks.

The rapture comes from the way some people interpret certain Bible passages. This should come as no surprise, since different people interpret the Bible in different ways - hence, the different denominations. The word "rapture" is not in the Bible, IIRC.

I believe in love too, and I don't need to idolize a fictive character. It's 2016, I don't have anything against religions, even though I'm an atheist. But, putting religion on such a high scale nowadays just doesn't make sense to me.

Well I'm an Atheist and I could care less whether this movie offended yours or anyone else's Bronze Age religious superstitions. Christian Mythology is an immoral belief system that should be ridiculed as this movie does. Even more ridiculous still, Christianity loves talking about good and evil while the God of the Bible is FAR more evil than Satan is.
