Last of the Summer Wine : Best episode ever?

Best episode ever?

The one where the old geezers sit on something and it rolls down a hill into a lake/river/pond/carwash....er hang on that happens every week dosent it?

Getting Sam Home is the one that stand out for me as well.

Its that man again!!

Re: Best episode ever?

Feature Length Episode - "Getting Sam Home" The trio arrange for a friend, Sam, to visit 'Lilly Bless Her' and get into a fix when Sam dies in the throws of passion. Best scene is where Foggy is required to wait in the coffin in the shed and a neighbour peers in to see him sit up and light a match to look at his watch. The neighbour nonetheless freaks out! Have to see it understand it - all becomes clear.

I loved Das(Welly)Boot and Stop That Bath, but I think it is a hard choice to make, as there are some truly wonderful episodes to choose from.

Re: Best episode ever?

Mine was "Car and Garter".
Nora and Compo were wonderful in it. And it was the first with Wesley.

Re: Best episode ever?

Getting Sam Home also happens to be one of my favourites as well.

Its that man again!!

Re: Best episode ever?

Taking the laughter track out of the show makes it less entertaining imo. Some Only Fools episodes are not watched by me because this happens in some episodes too. The latest entry to the Red Dwarf saga has not yet been seen by me because of the lack of audience participation unlike previous entries to the Red Dwarf series. I don't feel the need to watch it at anytime in the future either. And no I do not need to be told when to laugh, but the laughter track adds atmosphere to sitcoms and should NEVER be taken out.

2732 zombies were harmed in the making of this movie - L4D2: Dark Carnival finale.

Re: Best episode ever?

I remember that. The man passed out--then his wife called the police because she thought he'd disappeared. Then Compo and Clegg come back with a clothing store dummy that they're planning to leave in the coffin to relieve Foggy of his duties. But just as the frightened man is starting to get back on his feet, he sees Compo and Clegg in the dark and thinks they're carrying an actual body. They see the police car, think they're about to get caught, and throw the dummy over the hedge--where the scared man is now hiding. Chaotic hilarity ensues.

Another thing about Getting Sam Home is that makes Ivy a good character. Even though she spends a lot of the time scolding the men quite harshly, in some ways I think she's actually one of the most likable of the ladies. I think you can tell she isn't a mean person at heart. She actually kind of plays along with the men's schemes sometimes and takes an interest in their conversation.

'Irregardless' is not a word

Re: Best episode ever?

Actually, that hasn't happened for many years. They really slowed down on the physical comedy a long time ago.

Re: Best episode ever?

I think it can only be a three way tie between "Getting Sam Home" ... "Last POst and Pidgen"... and "Fallen Wellies"

Re: Best episode ever?

My favourite is "Car and Garter".

Re: Best episode ever?

Every episode in series 7, getting sam home was good. but series 7 is better.
