Last of the Summer Wine : what did compo have in the match box

Bill Owen... Compo would show a match box with something in it that would cause people mostly women to scream and pull away, did they ever tell or hint what was in the box...

We never ever found out. When Bill was dying he asked that it never be revealed.

But it is known what was usually found in those boxes...

When we were nippers, we would often put creepy crawlers ie bugs, spiders or even ants, in match boxes to scare the girls. Perhaps it was a play on that, although they acted more teenagers then nippers.
