Dredd : Dredd 2 - who wants a sequel?

Saw the movie again today for umpteenth time - has me thinking sequel. I know its been said there wont be one - but I sure wish there was. Anyone else agree..?

A good squel to Dredd would be the only compenstion for all the *beep* sequels we've had to endure over the years!

Wait wait is the OP suggesting a sequel to Dredd? That's is a great and novel idea! No one has ever suggested that ever. It's like that time I had an idea for double stuffed oreos~

Following reports that producer Adi Shankar claimed he is working on a sequel to the 2012 movie DREDD, co-owner of Judge Dredd and one of the films executive producers, Jason Kingsley, moved to ensure fans arent being mislead:

While we truly do appreciate Adis enthusiasm for Judge Dredd, he has no involvement with the franchise or any future cinematic or small screen outings.

Claims of him pushing forward a sequel to DREDD are not true and we dont want fans to get excited only to have their hopes dashed. 2000 AD and Rebellion continue to work hard to bring the futures greatest lawman back to screens.

This movie was fantastic it surprised the hell out of me, loved the atmosphere and the guy playing the lead did a fantastic job would love a sequel for this. How well did it fare overall saleswise/popularity though ? I hope it was a sucess but i havent heard it was.

Edit: Apparently it cost 35million and made around the same about 34 or something at the cinemas alone, so it wasnt a sucess i guess hopefully it made enough via dvd/blu ray sales to pitch in a sequel.
