March or Die : Uncut full version of "March or Die"

Uncut full version of "March or Die"

Has anyone found the uncut full version of this film? I have the VHS tape of the film but it is missing a great battle scene as well as a different ending. I guess this will be on the DVD of the film. The DVD is available in Europe.Any guess when a US DVD is comming?

Re: Uncut full version of 'March or Die'

I've just watched the UK release of this movie on DVD and sadly it's only the standard "cut" release with the desert battle scene missing and the missing desertion footage at the end.

Re: Uncut full version of 'March or Die'

The Australian DVD is widescreen but has no extras and is the standard theatrical cut of the film rather than the extended TV version with the additional battle scene and alternative ending.

"Gentlemen, is this a great moment or a small one? I'm afraid I don't know."

Re: Uncut full version of 'March or Die'

There was one scene that I remember from the original theatrical release wherein Maj. Foster (Gene Hackman) meets with his former West Point classmates in the back of a railcar. He joins them riding on a motorcycle sidecar and taps the driver with a swaggertick to stop. He gets out slowly and one of his ex-classmates (who are now brigadier generals) comments "I see you finally made major" or something to this effect. This scene is missing from the DVD (US release) NTSC region 1. I'm wondering now if I saw the same movie or was merely having a false memory. Anybody else remember this scene?

The cut with the scene you describe was aired once on a major network commercial broadcast around 1980. I have not seen that scene since then.
