Ashley Scott : Let's give Ashley a break guys….

Ive read a lot of comments about Ashley on this and other threads talking about how bad Ashley is at acting. Lets give her a break guys.why? Well - Ashley fell into acting while still modeling. She didnt want to parade around as a clothes hanger her whole life. She was given an opportunity and went for it even though she was scared to death. She was scared because she is dyslexic and acting5b4 requires a great deal of reading lines in front of lots of people. So imagine conquering your worst fear in front of people who are judging you by how you deliver lines you have to readAshley has pretty much flown by the seat of her pants she has learned and honed her craft on the job. To her credit she is still a working actor in Hollywood that says a lot about her especially in todays economy. I feel she is doing a great job and I am proud of her for going after something when the opportunity presented itself and for sticking with it even though she had to work through some issues with her dyslexia and lack of formal training. I wish her nothing but continued success.

I think Ashley is terrific and I love watching her on screen. God I wish Birds Of Prey were still on tv! I loved every second of her acting in there.

I wish her all the success in the world. It couldn't happen to a nicer girl :)

I have all the episodes of "Birds of Prey" except the very first one! on tape. Could I ask how it all got started?

If I don't like an actor I prefer don't say or post something bad about him/her, that person is trying to do their best effort, there are terrific actors, good actors, excellent actors, bad actors, good actors, average actors, but all, all are trying to do their1354 best to survive and earn money, as any other people.

i don't see the point in post to insult a person that we don't know, i think that is unfair. I agree with you. people is full with anger, why people find pleasure to dismiss others? i don't know, i just can suggest, encourage people, help people, If you don't have anything nice to say, better say nothing.

She's really not that horrible. There are plenty of actresses who started out in acting and have had plenty of formal training that are worse than her. Many of them are on the so-called "A-List." I saw a lot of potential in her when she was doing Birds of Prey and even more by the time Jericho came around. She's just had the bad luck of being offered roles in some very unfortunate films. I hope she starts to get offered better material. I think she could truly shine given the right role.

Hey, not everyone can be Naomi Watts or Kate Winslet. I absolutely loved Ashley in "Birds of Prey" and liked her a lot in "Walking Tall" and "Into the Blue"; watching "12 Rounds" tonight and look forward to seeing this lovely lady in many more films and television projects, maybe playing the lead in a first-rate thriller someday.

I'd sooner watch Ashley Scott do the ironing than watch Kate Winslet do anything. I really do not get what the fuss is with her. And I do not really know anything about Naomi Watts, who I see is prolific in her acting output.

I came acoss Birds of Prey and Jericho, and I thought Miss Scott was great in both. Any actor who paid some dues in Jericho can be proud of that involvement, in my opinion, as that show will surely acquire serious cult status. And Birds of Prey is a little unsung gem in the loose genre of graphic-novels-turned-tv-shows.

She`s adorable and has that "cool" factor. Plus I hear she`s really nice and fun to work with. People need to not be so harsh on other people. Life`s too short.

Oh, I completely agree.

Actually, I had a talk with another person on another board.
Just about how people take time to comment on boards of people they don't like. I don't get that.
And how people have a right to there opinion and that's fine with me. But there is a difference between stating our opinion/having a rationel diskussion, and being plain rude and disrespectful.
We basicly agreed at some point.


So here to you miss Ashley.

I agree & I've enjoyed Ashley since Dark Angel. I just got around to the first eps of Birds of Prey ( some freak having kept it unavailable when it first came out @ NF ) & here is my typical reaction. I tend to make directors & the writers responsible for most performances. I believe they are. Naturally some players are more gifted in the case of a director who just allows an actor free reign. Frankly - and this gets dicey - I no longer enjoy the work of Streep & DeNiro, and haven't for awhile. The first rule of screen acting is to be watchable. Ashley Scott is certainly that and more most times I've seen her.

As for her weight - some people do have amazing metabolisms. Contrary to morons who suggest all humans are alike - we are not. We share commonalities, yes. To say "alike" means "exactly the same" to the average person. Sorry. Not so.

Why elevate a mediocre actor to such heights. Shall we eschew honesty.
