Reality TV : Living in America - New Reality Series

Living in America - New Reality Series

Reality TV Series:

Follow three families who are in jeopardy of losing their home.
We want to know what it is like to live in America today.

Documentary style reality drama that promises each family $300,000.00 at the end of a one year commitment. Without any influence from the show, the viewers will see what each family endures and how each family has a great possibility of being triumphant in the face of adversity.

Rooting for the underdog is an under statement.
Each family should be reminded every episode that
"America does want you to succeed!"

Each family is from a different part of America. One from the West Coast, One from the East Coast and one from the Mid-West. The one thing they have in common is that no family has made over 50k for the year.

Interviews with outside agencies such as banks, assistance programs, charities, and so on are filmed documentary style and will not be used to affect the outcome of the families lives.

Re: Living in America - New Reality Series

Hello...
I'm not a producer, just a school social worker... I wanted to say that I do love this idea. People are compelled to watch social docu-series, especially ones involving children. I have thought that a look at the day to day functioning of school social workers in public school systems, would be a great series. Of course, I have not a clue about the TV industry, except that I watch a lot of TV! I think that people have various opinions about teachers and how students learn, in general... the pressure to "achieve" in our district is ON... but no one seems to consider the reality of what life is like for some children... broken families, minimal resources, living in a poor community, violence, etc... Kids don't have the ability to just leave their trauma at home... it impacts their school progress, behavior, and daily functioning. "Achievement" can be viewed in a variety of ways... not just by standardized test scores. What about getting to school in the first place? I usually start there with a student, and try to move forward. Baby steps! I wish you the best of luck! :)
