Terry and June : i beg to differ.. this is still funny

i beg to differ.. this is still funny

the fact it still seems fresh and funny more than 25yrs on says a lot - and makes it all the more creditworthy

way better than 2 cigarettes and a packet of crisps and most of the garbage comedy bbc put out these days.

thats all i have to say about that..

Re: i beg to differ.. this is still funny

Absolute rubbish of a show.

Re: I beg to differ.. this is Classic Comedy

depends how old you are

if you grew up/adult at the time, the niceness of 1979-87 adds to the appeal

if you are under 25, it's as old fashioned & hard to get into as any other 'old' TV show

look at it again when you're 40

Re: I beg to differ.. this is Classic Comedy

Yeah so I'm now 40 and this show is still rubbish.

Re: I beg to differ.. this is Classic Comedy

I sometimes think that some of the episodes with Terry making excuses to his boss are quite funny - but really only because they remind me of Principal Skinner and his excuses to Superintendent Chalmers.

Re: i beg to differ.. this is still funny

Still funnier than most modern sitcoms.

Re: i beg to differ.. this is still funny

Much funnier than most of the crap on tv now. Terry Scott is hilarious!

Re: i beg to differ.. this is still funny

I think it's watch-able and funny as well, and I'm 30. I don't see why it gets such a hard time. The criticism that it is just a safe middle class sitcom staring middle-aged people, is ironically, part of its appeal (to me anyway).

Re: i beg to differ.. this is still funny

needs a reboot

Re: i beg to differ.. this is still funny

I am watching the series again on DVD. Its simple slapstick comedy; written well; both actors are very good.
One key point to note, no mobile phones and no computers; how wonderful

Re: i beg to differ.. this is still funny

I was 30 when this show ended and I thought it was kack.
I'm 56 now and caught it last year on "Gold" or some other channel and it is just outdated kack now.
Painfully unfunny.

More tea Vicar? Jeeeeeeez...................

I was walking down the skyway my way...
