The Bond film that is majestic and beautifully shot!!

Moonraker was one of the best looking films in regards to Cinematography. The opening has never been beat with Bond having no parachute! John Barry, the master of creating the best scores for the films went way beyond here and created some excellent music for every scene that needed it.

I believe that Moonraker was the only Bond to showcase the space shuttle. If I am wrong then I know it's the first. Also, the Concorde was featured in the film which you'll never see again since it's been scrapped. The shuttle likewise. This movie made a hell of a lot of money at Number one on opening. IMDB is off by quite a bit. It only played in about 750 theaters. The ticket prices were considerably lower then.

Bond beds the beautiful French born Corrine Clery. I wish they had more to the scene between Bond and her. Jaws returns in this film after his debut in "The Spy who Love Me". This is an escapist Bond movie so check your brain when they start to go in to space thanks to Star Wars. The best thing about the space station is Ken Adam's massive design and sadly the last Bond to have this genius as the films that followed didn't have these huge Pinewood sets that knocked your eyes out. MOONRAKER has its flaws but when viewed upon premiere in 1979 on a massive screen and true Dolby Stereo, it was great!! No home theater can do it justice unless you have a video projector and a massive viewing room. :)
