The Hollywood Knights : A Comedic Masterpiece!
Re: A Comedic Masterpiece!
This is much funnier than animal house.
Re: A Comedic Masterpiece!
I was trying to explain to a friend about NT singing "Volare" and how hilarious it is but he didn't get it until I loaned him the DVD. It was even funnier watching him have his drink coming up through his nose while he was LHAO watching the "Volare" scene
Re: A Comedic Masterpiece!
Based on these comments I bought the DVD and was really disappointed, this movie is nothing more than a blatant, shameless rip-off of the better films that preceded itnamely American Graffiti and Animal House. Nothing more than a sequence of sophomoric low brow gags in search of a storypeople who think this is funny probably think rolling their turds into little balls and flinging it at people is funny too.
Re: A Comedic Masterpiece!
Just got back from the Little Turd ball flinging convention a few hours ago. What a great time it was. This movie was pretty good too.

"He's playing it weeth his deeek!"
I haven't seen the movie (YET) but just having a 54 year old man describe it to me, I GOTTA' SEE IT! His description of the movie had me in tears, especially the one armed violin player. Who cares if it's a rip-off of other movies as long as it makes a body hurt from laughter! I can't get enough when it comes to laughing. My wife and I have been having some REALLY good laughing episodes lately and I LOVE TO HURT FROM LAUGHING! It hurts SO GOOD!

Well, just saw this movie for the first time in about 25 years. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this movie when I was a teenager. I think the hot adulterous b!tch in the green dress got me started on my lifelong zest for MILFs, I dunno. But the humor doesn't really hold up as an adult.
Although the line "He's playing it weeth his deeek!" is still funny after all this time. Everything that old guy said is still hilarious.
I asked the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

HK is everything I want in a movie: good acting, real humor, good music and hot (and sometimes nude)girls.
Watching HK takes me back to the youthful innocence of my high school years when the only thing that mattered was acting cool, picking up hot girls and goofing off with your buddies at the local hang-out.
In addition to the comedy, HK touches on some deep socio-political changes that were occuring in the country at that time.
The closing of Tubby's Drive-in figuratively represents the end of an age of innocence for the USA. Soon after, the war in Vietnam escalated drastically and life for young people went from hanging out at the local drive-in to war protests and seeing your neighbors and friends being killed and maimed in a far-off jungle. The fun these kids had on that Halloween night 1965 represents a collective "last hurrah" for the nation as a whole before it got swept up in the chaos of Vietnam. These themes are briefly touched on during a few serious moments surrounding a character's departure to Vietnam.
I could watch this over and over again and never be bored.
Gailard Sartain (Bimbeau) should have won an oscar for his work here. His performance is the most hilarious thing I have ever seen.
Everything in this movie is right-on; the script is hilarious and the acting is superb (awards should have been bestowed on Leigh French, Robert Wuhl and Sartain).
