The Day After : The pregnant woman

The pregnant woman

I just noticed this, when we first see her, she says she's 10 days early, then after the bombs go off the same day, she says she's overdue, and then later on, maybe that night or the next night, some time later, they say she's 2 weeks late. Anybody else notice that?

Re: The pregnant woman

I'm guessing the movie takes place over a month long period, but I'm really bad with numbers and math, so this could be wrong.

Re: The pregnant woman

It might, but it was Sunday when she was brought in saying she was 10 days early, and it was that same Sunday when she told Dr. Oakes she was overdue.

Re: The pregnant woman

That must have been a glitch in dialogue. I was under the impression that 2 to 3 weeks had past by the end of the movie after the bombing.

Re: The pregnant woman

3 weeks do pass, hence why most men have beards at the end. Beard growth is a common side effect of the passage of time, though it plays no part in time travel.

You don't know sh!t, Jon Snow!

Re: The pregnant woman

But that's all at the end, whereas it's not the end when Dr. Oakes arrives at the hospital and she tells him she's overdue, in fact very little has just started in the way of the fallout by the time he gets there.

Re: The pregnant woman

The screenplay says she said was two weeks overdue when it was two weeks after the bombs fell.

The men were able to dry shave.

She was also a month off on her counting of what month she was in according to doctor oakes in the screenplay so she wasn't overdue at all.

A lot of women don't understand due dates or conception periods.
