Black Mirror : S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

Spoilers ahead:

----------------------------------

So they know its the robot bees, they already know how two deaths happened, bee gets inside a human brain through an open cavity (nose, ear, mouth..). Yet they take the next victim to some remote country house?! Really? Maybe a simple full head gas mask would have worked better? Or locking her in a very secure room? The stupidity was just unbearable in this one...

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

Ignorance is bliss sometimes =)

That being said, I *beep* loved that episode.

Less than forget. But more than begun.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

I understand that and its a good show overall, but this one was just too much and insulting to me as a viewer. Most of the other ones are at least somewhat believable and smart...
I guess leave your brain at the door kind of one.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

I like it as well ! Only episode I really didn't care for was Man on Fire.

For a moment I thought you were talking about Denzel Washington movie. :-|

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

At that point in the show the police believed that the bad guy had to be within 20 meters of the victim. So, based on their knowledge at the time, taking the woman to a safe house out in the middle of nowhere was pretty much the best option they had. NO ONE could get that close to the house without them knowing about it.

A gas mask wouldn't work. A robot bee could just get in through your rectum. Or maybe just burrow in through your skin.

Locking her in a secure room wouldn't work, either, unless the police could also absolutely secure an area 20 meters around that room and guarantee that nothing bee-sized could get in it.

"It seems we are not all in agreement."
"I disagree!"

Gas mask and a butt plug, then.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

I hope you are not being serious haha. The whole population was not even targeted yet when they took that woman to the remote house, which was the most illogical thing to do.
As for the rectum :)... now if only they had that in the movie hahahaha.... And how the f..ck do you get to the brain starting at the rectum? The robot bee would have quite a journey there, reminds me of MR Slave's rectum in South Park now.

Lets say your rectum theory stands mr robot bee expert, and there are no butt plugs available in the future. A simple submergence under 1 meter of water would kill your theory right there and now, don't tell me those bees have scuba gear.

Clearly you must struggle with logic because taking someone to a remote location under police guard is actually what happens in almost every civilian protection operation.

I can think of literally hundreds, possibly thousands of things that would be far more illogical than doing the most logical and obvious thing that is practiced by most police forces. It's like saying "That hungry dude ate his sandwich, the logic there was terrible!"

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

How to avoid killer robot bees that 'ONLY' use facial recognition? Hide your face, wear masks.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

I may be misremembering but wasn't their original theory that whoever was controlling the bee (at the time they only knew one was controlled) would have be in close proximity of the target in order to keep control of the bee? Hence relocation to the remote location. The events at the cabin basically confirmed that nobody is safe anywhere.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

You realize that they were the only ones who knew how the bees tracked people? They had that conversation at the same time as the massive attack. How could they have gotten the whole public to cover their faces in time? They couldn't have.

But guys seriously, *beep* Kelly Macdonald and her soft-ass sterotypical detective acting, and *beep* her distracting-as-hell, impossible-to-take-seriously Scottish accent.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

Came here to start this topic if it wasn't already.

Outside of the literal best answer being bee suits. Especially the chancellor.

The acting and directing, hell even the cg, were of a lower quality to the other episodes.

I got a subtle Edward Snowden nod from it too.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

I'd like to think such fictional works are best enjoyed when you apply "leave your brain home while watching" technique. You shouldn't try applying a real-life scenario to Black Mirror episodes atleast, there are many such peculiarities involved in it. Every episode has a share of such occurrences that we may consider to be stupid!

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

This was one of the worst episodes, for obvious reasons.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

The decision to take her to the safehouse wasn't a problem for me. What I thought unrealistic was that the bees, which were only designed to pollinate the flowers, were built metallic, with the ability to be individually remotely controlled and with facial recognition technology. It seem they were designed to be the perfect assassination tool with pollination as a secondary function. It would be like if traffic lights were built with facial recognition technology and ammunition heads that can be fired remotely, and hackable by anybody who knows the ip-address.

Re: S3E6 - Probably the stupidest episode of the series…

I don't like it either.
