Black Mirror : would you be one to die (spoilers)

would you be one to die (spoilers)

In HITN. Would you have been one of the 300000+ people to die? Because you would have spread the hashtag against other people.

I definitely wouldn't. Don't use twitter. Stay out of drama online even if I read it.

So wouldn't be cynical enough to get anyone killed.

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

I never troll, but I do complain pretty hard about Trump; however, I think that would be an exception.

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

Someone mentioned it tumblr and I could see this happening: the thing that fvcks with me the most about ‘hated in the nation’ is that if the #deathto hashtag thing was real, so many of us would be posting selfies and expressing how suicidal we are in a self depreciation/kidding manner, only to be fvcking murdered by autonomous bees

Clever things make people feel stupid and unexpected things make them feel scared

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

I don't really even know what tumblr is. I'm such a loser when it comes to social. I know it is for attention/stalking celebrities but that is about it.

I'm 20 and only have FB and that's mainly so I can message people for free, group chats and event invites lol.

Thats *beep* up that we would even joke about things like that

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

Pretty sure I would have tweeted #DeathTo Trump.. so probably

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

Same for me. I never use hashtags and even though there are some people I can't stand I would never wish for their death online.

I know the show didn't go this deep, but I would hope the guy had a filter to at least exclude people who posted the names of evil world leaders. Wanting Kim Jong Un dead shouldn't be punishable by death. But I get that the point was more about people hiding behind anonymity than eliminating truly evil people.

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

Wishing death in someone because they have a different opinion than you?

That sounds so bigoted!

Yeah this. I more thought it was about how certain people make mistakes and then get severely punished for it.

Like the girl that they tried and saved. OK doing what she did to a memorial was wrong but she was most likely drunk/high and seemed to be strugling with life issues. She needed rehabilitation not hated and ridiculed.

It's like you may disagree with Katie Hopkins but I guess you could say we feed her by spreading hate against her. If we just ignored her then she would eventually go away. The first death reminded me of her, we don't know what she said but being a journalist means that we can assume a Katie esk type of comment.

I think it was many layours of hate, is one person worse than another, does one deserve to die than another when they aren't doing anything illegal?

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

I would probably tweet something like this "#deathto my LG TV for not working well with chrome cast" and die.

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

You may have survived since he was punishing those who say it about people. The video they watched said this but maybe it was just the hashtag in which I feel sorry for you lol

Re: would you be one to die (spoilers)

I had thought the plot was the people whose names were tweeted with hashtag #DeathTo were killed. I dig the twist in the final ten minutes.

My initial thought with the faulty premise:
Suppose it were a system structured to kill off the person with most #DeathTo hashtags. Considering the ridiculous, harmless, puny anti-political-correctness stuff these victims are doing, then yes, I could be tagged, but it would be by like 10 people. I wouldn't be scared for my life, given there are people (mostly politicians, public figures and internet celebrities) who would get significantly more "votes" than I could dream of. :)

My thought with the proper premise:
Realistically, since my newsfeeds are weeks behind, I'd probably be way behind on the trend and only catch on after the 300,000+ deaths. The only reason I might get killed is because, knowing my troll self, I would likely (not knowing of the deaths) jokingly use the hashtag, like "DeathTo people using the #DeathTo hashtag," or on a concept/topic like someone else in this thread posted:

I would probably tweet something like this "#deathto my LG TV for not working well with chrome cast" and die.

Additionally: Couldn't you just get around it by using someone else's phone or a public computer? Does nobody do that?

I didn't use spoiler tags here, since your threat title implies a safe space for us to freely talk spoilers.
