Field of Dreams : Death and Heaven

Death and Heaven

I love this film and have watched it dozen's of times but profess to not having read the book. However in the film interpretation I have only just realised that it is quite possible that Ray is in fact dead and this IS his heaven. If you consider the clues it is actually quite possible. He can see the 'ghosts', he hears voices, he travels in time, he has the perfect life (with an exception) and when he says (paraphrasing) 'Heaven is where dreams come true' he kind of looks and considers for a moment as if he is wondering if it is heaven.

Re: Death and Heaven

I haven't read the book either but never interpreted the movie as Ray being dead. That would mean his wife and child are dead too? I doubt it. I think it's supposed to be a piece of heaven on earth type of thing. Just my opinion.

Mr. Grady, you were the caretaker here.

So, dead people drive cars then too?
