Quantum Leap : The Camakazi Kid: Michael Jackson
Re: The Camakazi Kid: Michael Jackson
They didn't do that plot device until the second season with the episode Another Mother, Camakazi Kid was in the first season. The show was starting out, so they had no idea they would make it past six episodes. There were lots of things in the first season that were gone by later seasons like the Project having superiors and would reprimand Al for divulging personal info to Sam, Ziggy being referred to as "he" but has a female persona (voiced by Deborah Pratt) when Sam leaps back to his present, and so on.

Another Mother was season 2.
Re: The Camakazi Kid: Michael Jackson
Too bad that they didn't establish that in season 1 it could have probably explained a lot about Michael's character in real life.
Re: The Camakazi Kid: Michael Jackson
You're right. It was just the first season, so nothing was totally established yet. And yes while watching it on Netflix recently, I got really confused with Al calling Ziggy a "he" when by the end, the computer was a "she" with Debbie Pratt's voice.
Re: The Camakazi Kid: Michael Jackson
"The camakazi leap" actually does occur within the second season. However, the actual episode was shown in the first. A lot of leaps occurred out of sync within the first a d second seasons.
Re: The Camakazi Kid: Michael Jackson
P.S. His location is wrong as well. This takes place in Van Nuys, CA. However, in 1961, Michael and his family were still living in Gary, Indiana at the time. On June 6, 1961, Michael was just 2 & 1/2 months shy of his 3rd birthday. He also did not start singing with his older brothers (and one cousin who sat in as a drummer) until 2 years later when he sang "Climb Every Mountain" at his grade school's talent show, while he was in Kindergarten. And the rest is history!
