The Adventures of Tintin : TINTIN ORIGINAL 1960's SERIES IN ENGLISH????

TINTIN ORIGINAL 1960's SERIES IN ENGLISH????

I grew up watching and loving Tintin, I was pleased to see it on DVD, but when I started viewing I found a completely different Tintin with new illustrations and voices and music, all of which lack the character of the series I watched when I was young. The show I remembered started "Herges Adventures of Tintin" in a deepish voice, whereas the new one starts out sounding more like 'Thomas the Tank' or 'Miss Marple' with the music used.

What I'm hoping, is someone can tell me if there is a DVD set available of the ones I watched growing up, there may not be, but I noticed that there are lots of different ones available around the world, and wondered wether the Canadian or English versions are the same as Australia. I would like to get the whole set of those ones on the TV in England in the 60's. Any help welcome. Thankyou. Andrew.

Hello I'm only six years late but maybe I can help - there are two animated series, Belvision'a "herge's adventures of tintin" and this one by Nelvana.

The original series that you describe can be mostly found on YouTube now - search for "belvision tintin" and most episodes show up!

I gotta say though, this series is much better!
